- A professional geologist with over 35 years of experience in mineral exploration and development, Mr. Wares was responsible for the discovery of the Canadian Malartic bulk-tonnage gold deposit, subsequently developed by Osisko Mining into one of Canada’s largest gold mines. He was co-winner of the PDAC’s “Prospector of the Year” award (2007) and, with John Burzynski and Sean Roosen, was named “Mining Man of the Year” by the Northern Miner (2009). He currently sits on the board of Brunswick Exploration Inc. and holds a B.Sc. and an Honorary Doctorate in Earth Sciences from McGill University.
